The 7th Man
For the past few weeks our hometown team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, have been in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Media attention from around the world has been focused on the team, so I thought it would be fun to focus some attention on the fans. There are six hockey players on the ice, the 7th man is the fan. The fans are the backbone to the team and they are just as much a part of the team as the players are. It is the energy and excitement of the fans that push the Lightning hockey team to play their best and fight for the win during every game. At the last watch party, despite the rain, there were over 17,000 fans at Amalie Arena supporting the Lightning. The community has really come together as one to support the Lightning hockey team. Although we did not bring the Stanley cup home this year, we put up one hell of a fight on the ice and on the sidelines! This is dedicated to the die hard Lightning fans. Your time and efforts devoted to cheering on your team whether they were home or away has not gone unnoticed. I'll see everyone at the play offs next year where we will get the Stanley cup!
